A direct-to-consumer brand selling subscription water filters was growing acquisition and losing it at renewal. The storefront was fine; the subscription engine, the renewal reminders, and the self-serve pause flow were not.
We rebuilt the stack over 10 weeks: new headless storefront on top of their existing CMS, a subscription engine that supported pause, skip, swap, and reactivation, and lifecycle messaging triggered off real subscription events instead of a flat weekly schedule.
Three months after go-live, recurring revenue retention lifted 23 points and checkout abandonment fell 61 percent. The reactivation flow is now their second-largest acquisition channel.
